A quick question about CAI

Post by DarkNightV6 on Tue Feb 12, 2008 9:59 am

Does price really matter when buying a CAI? Ive seen them from $125 to around $300, Is there any difference in them or is it just because someone will pay that much for it? The best deal i've seen is on American Muscle where they give you the CAI and SCT X3 for a little over $600.

From what I have seen there is not much differance between them. However I would go with a tuner CAI combo from one of the established places because if you have questions you have someone to talk to instead of some warehouse on the other end of the internet. I would recommend Brenspeed, Bama, or JPC (JPC are local guys)

I don't know what all is made for the V6, but top brands for the V8 have been C&L, JLT, Steeda, Roush and WMS. As far as the tuners I got my SCT from Brenspeed, but have heard great things about Bamachips!

on the different forums everyone seems to have either a Brenspeed or Bamachips tune. I got my c & l with SCT from Brenspeed and have been very happy with them. They have great customer service and don't mind taking time to discuss any issues with you. I wish they were closer to MD though. I think this summer I am going to take a few days off and drive out to Indiana to have them do something to my car. Maybe a custom dyno tune or some under pullies.
