New Pony in the White's stable: '84 SVO

Post by Boss281 on Sun Mar 16, 2008 1:51 pm

Wow, first post too.

Zach picked up a '84 Mustang SVO turbo 2.3l in great condition, showing 41k miles. It's going to be his daily driver. I'll let him provide details (there are a lot) but it's a beautiful machine, and this one will be kept pretty much as is, clean and detailed as his daily driver! I should be so lucky.

He paid $6000 from a local guy adverstising on MetroAreaMustangs. Normally I would think it's a $1000 too much (original turbo engine, burning some oil, a FEW flaws in the paint at the front bumper) but it's the first year for the Mustang SVO, which makes the investment in something special a real possibility. SVOs advertise for $9-11k in pristine condition, and I'd call this one Good to Very Good--we saw a similar SVO several months back going for $9k and we passed. So I'd say the money was spot on.

Sooooo, thats an '84 Mustang SVO (daily driver, Zach), an '87 Mustang GT (race car, Zach), a '97 Mustang GT vert (daily driver, me), a 2004 Mustang V6 (daily driver, Nate), and a 2005 Mustang GT (race and show, me). I think we're almost done! Very Happy

I think the 4 eyed pride guys may feel differently. To each his own. Very Happy

The goal was something different, as he already has a nice '87, and we both regret selling off the '86. It was a beautiful canyon red model.

If I had to pick a new one I'd locate a nice '93. May still do that some day...

nice find Zack!! Can't wait to see it sometime! You gonna bring it to CJ's this year?? You know for CA day!! Anyway, I think it would look better if it were a 4-eye insted of those headlights, but that's how they were made. JMO!
