Ok so i'm considering getting longtubes but cant seem to find a mid-pipe to go with them. Would I use a gt one for the duals? or have to get one made?

Re: Longtubes
Alex, unless you are going forced induction on a 4.0, the long tubes will actually hinder your performance instead of add. best you could do would be shorty headers.

Re: Longtubes
James ur wrong........MAHAHAHA long tube headers will hurt HP numbers but Tq will greatly increase in the low end due to scavenging effect. As long as there equal length runner long tubes they will not hurt the 4.0

Chris, Alex is not going to be putting down crazy torque numbers with long tube headers. I know what headers do BTW
Do your research Chris before opening your pie hole. How many 4.0's with out F/I run long tubes Chris? There is a reason, and its not because they are a bitch to install or cost. The 4.0 is an even fire engine will not act the same as an odd fire v6

Re: Longtubes
Hey do ur research....Odd fire vs even fire the only diff is exhaust note/drone. Long tube headers have a great effect on low end toraue. Only reason why you dont see many ppl putting them on is becouse most that drive V6 mustangs DO NOT MOD them. So Back on topic old man. Get them Alex!

Re: Longtubes
lot of misinformation in this thread...
good read on shorty vs long tubes.
http://www.mustang50magazine.com/techarticles/29618_short_long_tube_headers_test/index.html
All in all properly sized long tubes will make more HP and TQ then a properly sized short tube. No matter if it is NA or FI. However OTHER things will get in the way of exhaust pulse such as cats, and mufflers. So you must make the decision on YOUR setup

Re: Longtubes
Thanks Will that was an interesting article.
My information in regards to performance gains on the 4.0 v6 with long tubes come from people with heavily modded 4.0's that say not much gain if any will come from the long tubes. And those are guys with F/I.
I'm just trying to help a friend save his money and here comes douchie trying to spend it for him.
Alex please take a look at the threads over at mustangcollective.com on the subject. There are lots of people over there that know what they are talking about when it comes to the 4.0, and the site was founded by a 4.0 owner.
