First vid with GoPro HD 1080 - Some spirited driving to Sonic

Post by RDY4WAR on Mon Sep 19, 2011 3:25 am

I bought a GoPro HD Hero 1080 today and decided to try it out on a little cruise a few of us did for some Sonic. If you're looking to kill some time, watch the whole thing, it's over 26 min long. Smile I love the suction cup mount.

Highlights:
2:18 - Some spirited driving coming out of the parking lot.
4:30 - Getting on the highway and getting a little more spirited.
8:05 - Get separated from the group part 1.
8:25 - Driving by everyone
**A bunch of highway cruising and a couple exits later**
17:00-19:00 - Get separated from the group part 2 and play catch up.
23:00-24:10 - Getting off the highway and more spirited driving.
25:30 - Pulling into Sonic.

Nothing too special, just having fun.

That particular suction cup may or may not have held on at over 100 mph Laughing

Here's a tip. keep the vids short, like 5 min. Otherwise they are just too long to keep interest. Edit all the crap and keep the highlights. Not to mention the time it takes to load. I have the same camera for my bike. It's a lot of fun. Congrats on the new toy.

Add scene changes in, pics, different stuff to keep the video fresh. I wish I had it when I had my Notch, woulda made for some fun and interesting footage.

The mount that comes w/ the camera is good. It does take some getting used to it to trust it, lol. I have several different mounts for the bike.

Oh I know. Next videos will be short and sweet. Smile I was just testing it out and decided to post the whole vid. I'll be working on a shortened version of it.

I like that video Bernie. That was the first day Bryce owned it so it's understandable that he has to learn all about it. I can't wait to get mine!

LOL trust me, my first wasn't any better. The GoPro is very popular on the bike forums and I got a lot of tips from the "pros" when I bought mine.

Bryce, make some test vids, then use a video editing software for effects.

I didn't even get the bike back until the Monday after Irene. Later that day I had a throttle cable issue, so back to the shop it went. I rode it a few times and then TS Lee came through... Then only twice the past week or so due to more rain...

Get the bike back? Did something happen to it?

I edit my vids in Pinnacle Ultimate studio 14. This video was just the raw and unedited cut. Smile

It sat untouched for 2 1/2 years. I had the carbs cleaned/rebuilt and a full tune up done since the bike wouldn't start and the gas tank was junk.
