What day is best?
Catoctin Mountain Cruise 2011 Sunday, 10-23rd
Meet at the State Farm lot in Frederick at 9:30 and start the cruise at 10:00.
OK I fixed the map, and I suggest you print it out, in fact it wouldn't hurt to print out small bits of it for other navigation if you lost, it will help you get back on the route in such a case.

So we'll be stopping at the Sheets and Burger king instead of the 7-11 this time, just to skirt the festival in Thermont, if the group is to big we can always change that and jump on 15 and backtrack a mile to the 7-11, but we'll call it that day.
If it rains the cruise is off, not taking the chance on wet leaves.
So lets do this, put it on your other sites and lets see if we can top last year.

There will be a picnic at the end of the cruise. We are asking people to bring a desert or cash for the 50/50 raffle to help contribute towards expenses :btu: :clinkmugs:
We`re having burgers, dogs, cole slaw, potato salad, exc. If you would like a veggie burger please bring it. We`ll be more than happy to throw it on the grill for ya! :drinkingbuddies:

I voted for the 16th as that gives me a weekend in between this and the NVMC track rental to get the head/cams/intake swap done and dyno tuned. Hopefully I'll have my GoPro by then and will be recording the cruise.

Dam that time of the year. Can we invite other clubs to this? Other weedwackers and such? And how about Dizzums?

Everyone is welcome in this cruise as long as they can behave. This is a cruise not a race. For those who like to go fast, I recommend they stay to the rear. This is the fastest position in the cruise since they have to play catch up.
The front of the cruise is for the guys who want to cruise and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
Don't forget your camera!!

I love cruises but I'm not bothering with this one. Just way too many cars and too many jerks not respecting the lives of others--both other members on the cruise and other vehicles on the road. I don't know how many near head ons I've witnessed. The need for speed is understood, and that's why we have race tracks and drag strips.
You all have fun and especially be SAFE.
