HID Colors?

Post by 03ranger30 on Sun Jul 31, 2011 11:15 pm

I am looking at getting some HIDs for my truck and am having problems deciding what color to get. I am set on getting 6000k for the headlights but am stuck between either 3000k or 6000k for the fogs. So I came here to get yawls opinion on this. Also, should I look at getting hi/lo for the headlights or just the lo kit cause they are already so bright.

They will be ordered from DDM Tuning should I decide to get them.

Thanks guys!!

I have 6000K on my truck, eclipse, del sol. I have 8000K in my mustang. I just purchased two sets xentec from a guy on ebay located in elkridge for 40.00. Installed both and have had no problems. My eclipse has been running for two months with them now. I will never pay another shop price for HIDS.

I have 6k hi/lo for the head lights and just 6k for the fogs. All from ddm tuning and have not had any issues with them. However I have heard recently that some people have been annoyed with the amount of time it takes to ship them now. But when I got about a year ago they came with in a week.

I have heard nothing but good things about DDM. All the other places charge over like 100 bucks for a pair.

I got the 8000, and everyone told me they would be too blue, but I dont see much difference in them and 6000, I wanted them just a little blue-er, but dont mix the colors, it looks dumb when I see that.

If you get the 55Watt ballast with the 4500 bulbs you will not need a the hi/lo kit. The 55 watt ballasts put out a lot more light output than the 35watt

4500 isn't what I want cause they are to yellow. And they say with the 55w kit the lights tends to wash out more making it look like a different color.

3K is yellow 4.5k Is white with a very faint yellow when reflected off roadway. The reason they say they wash out is becouse of the increses light output.
