O2 sensor work around for '99 V6?????
Dad is working on a '99 V6 that has an O2 sensor going off, the Cat Conv is tripping the sensor and he is looking for a work around if possible. The shop mech found a work around online for another make but the circuit didnt work on the Pony. He wanted to know if any of my Pony buddies (thats right, I called u guys Pony Buddies) would know of, have done ,a work around to bypass the Cat Conv and not trip the O2 sensor.
Please let me know as soon as possible if any of u guys can provide info/site/DIY, Thanks.

catalyst monitor has to be shut off in the ecm, prob is when he goes to do the emissions test, it'll show up as monitor not run and he'll be kicked to the curb and told to come back...bottom line pucker up and buy new cats

those will get rid of the code, but will show as not getting a signal when emissions are run

found out he does have to get emissions as well, so will the MIL elim do the trick or there ISNT a fix that will clear emissions? without purchasing the cats?

Re: O2 sensor work around for '99 V6?????
Nope...
I have thought about making a true mil that would send periodic signals to the ecm... just never got around to it...

Re: O2 sensor work around for '99 V6?????
I do know of a trick. Get a o2 extender. weld up the bottom of it. Drill a .040 hole through the weld(be difficult but can be done) reinstall. What happens with the cat monitor it swings the afr rich and lean and looks for a change and or no change in the cat. With the hole being small the changes that the sensor reads will be drastically delayed. Allowing the o2 to be there but not trip the monitor. Least that has been passed to me. But in theory its a A+ lol
