Looking for some places to go metal detecting...
Here in northern Virginia you can pretty much only hunt private property and I've already been through my backyard...twice. Does anyone have any private land that may be worth metal detecting? Its kind of my new hobby. Just bought a decent detector last week and anxious to try out a few spots. So anyone have farmland or a good spot?

There is a lot of metal in my parents garage you can detect.
Also my mom lost an earring in the field. 1 ct. With platinum setting but I dont think detectors pick up platinum

They actually do pick up platinum. What field? I'll try to find it for her

There is a chance that some stuff may be on our property as it is VERY close to trenches during the Civil War... Of course I didn't think of that last night while strolling through Wally World last night when you texted me...

This is also the time of year to hit the beaches in the evenings. Finding stuff people lose while there during the day. I used to know a couple of people who did pretty good doing that.
