Need Stereo help
I just got a 1999 Eclipse GS for gas purposes. However it has a stock radio with blown speakers. I believe the front doors are 6 1/2 and the rears can be either 6 1/2 or 6x9's. I am not looking to spend a fortune on this but would like to put a MP3 with IPOD capabilities and replace speakers that will have a little thump to them. Any ideas. Again not looking to spend a fortune

For under $300, this is a little beauty:

I put one in my Mustang & bloody love it!

Re: Need Stereo help
I've always used Crutchfield, www.crutchfield.com, for most of my electronics purchases. For car audio, they will provide any brackets, adapters & harnesses you will need for the install.
As for brand products, I've always been partial to Alpine HU's. I have Polk speakers which I think are excellent bang-for-the-buck speakers. Otherwise, money be damned, I would go MB Quart or JL Audio for speakers.

I used Sonic Electronix for mine. Alpine component speakers witha Pioneer touchscreen head unit. I think the whole setup cost me $350 on black friday.
