Is showing your liscense plate that big of a deal?
I always see people blur out their plates when they post pictures on the internet. Is it a bad idea to show it because I can't really see how it is.

One of the reasons people do this is because their car isn't 100% street legal. For example, I am running illegal tint on mine.
some people are running with no catalytic converters, which is illegal in the DC Metro area, for emmissions standards, noise ordinances...
by exposing their tags there is the possibility that you could be traced by your tags and receive an infraction.

The problem is the internet.... You can get any information now to include your address by a plate. Not a good idea coming from a ofc. It is amazing what can be done now by internet and by cell phone.

Ya but anyone can walk down the street and get tag #'s, so I don't worry bout it too much, now if I do a sig for someone I blank it out, cause they might not want it on the Internet, but with Facebook and Twitter and Myspace, there are bigger privacy issues to worry about.

BTW im pretty sure they cannot give you a infraction becouse of a picture. There would be too many hoops to jump through to probe that the pic is real and where and when it was taken and crap like that. PPL do it becouse if there is a vid of them doing something really illegal and there plate is visible plus they have it shown on forums they are the owner then they could get raped
