Comp Cams Stage II

Post by Droptop306 on Wed Apr 06, 2011 11:27 am

Does anyone have a set of these sitting around. I purchased a set and now I am being told that they are stock Cams and not Comp Cams as the box states. Worst part is I purchased these used and have no way to check or balance. Last used purchased in this kids lifetime. Just want to compare them. I had to put out the extra money for a new set beings the car is torn apart already. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Looks like I am out $500 for cams that make a nice table stand. I am done after this install. I guess I had Sucker written on my forehead and should of had someone that knew what to look for go with me to look at them.

Look at the end of the cam and find the grind number. You can search for that and see what it is

Did the cam cards come with them?

Most early 3v cams were regrinds, so its possibly stock cams that were ground.

I have stock cams laying around somewhere, and a set of Comp turbo grinds - MMR specs.

I have my stock cams if you would like to compare. I actually measured the lobes on my stock and compared them to the Comp stage II`s. They are 1mm taller than stock.

Call me when you get a chance. I want to talk to you about something else.

OK I am picking them up today. I have the Comp Cam Cards that came with them. I will look at them and let you know. I was also told by Comp Cams to take a picture of them and they would be able to tell me by looking at that. I will keep you posted. Bob give you a call later on today. This whole thing has a sour feeling in my stomach no matter which way I think about it.

Sorry, man. I've bought tons of used stuff and never had an issue. don't lose faith
I don't see how you could get screwed. Paypal will back ou up if there is a discrepancy and anyone on a forum like S197Forum.com are usually held to a pretty high standard or pinished if they do something like that.

I glanced at the cams last night. It looks like they are both stamped at one end with a 1FLE number which I am assuming is a Ford Part number. I am going to look at them a littel closer today when I get home. However I feel by glancing at them they are stock. On well. I might try to make an end table or stand out of them to remind NEW NEW NEW!!!!!! Bob I will send a pic this afternoon. However the rest of the install is going without a hitch "knock on Wood", not finished yet.

OK update, it looks like the car will not be ready for pickup until next week. All is good in the install of new cams. Still trying to verify that these are stock cams. So when i get a chance I will have to check with some of you to look at them. Thanks for all the help.
