Now that's thinking with your dipstick!

saw this commercial, and it reminded me... i need a new dipstick tube. nothing fancy, just one thats not rusted lol. where can i find one?

No its driven into the block but most of the time when people up headers on they bend it out of the way and loosen the grip. The bolt that holds it to the header should still keep it in though.

okay, yeah, even before I swapped out my first set of headers, the tube slides in and out of the block. And the clip that is held on by a header bolt is so rusted it does not get held. So this is why I am going to get a new dipstick tube. Is it hard to drive a new tbe into the block?

Nope. Just difficult to get to with anything to tap it with the engine in the car. I ended up making a slide hammer with a fork that I could tap it in from.under the car. I lent it out and never saw it again:(
