Post by prodrifterx on Sun Jan 18, 2009 10:11 am

Im reinitiating my old thread. Look all these pictures over. Try to do so openminded. I am a car enthusiats like no other. I hold high value and respect for the individuals who can put together a well flowing car, with neither form nor function outdoing eachother. I am an import/euro enthusiats as much as i am a domestic enthusiast. Thus because of that you will not only be seeing Mustangs. I made this thread awhile back, some remember, some may not, and some of you are new.

Id like to get everyones opinion, even again. The mustang will stay bright red. The color to mostlikely be redone however once i get the car near the way i desire. Im mostlikely not staying tru to Ford on the paint, as i am looking at the viper and carrera gt red hues currently. I am unsure as to rim color because i am unsure of how the mustang will look. hus why i desire your'alls advice.

What color rims look good on a more simplistic mustang with bright red paint?
What color rims look good on a mustang with black stripes, black lips, and tint (like SuperSnake GT500 and AmericanClubRacer Viper) with bright red paint?
Would Stripes of a different aspect like the SuperSnake or AmericanClubRacer be a nice addition?

So im unsure if it will be striped like the GT500 Super Snake, ACR Viper, be clean/simple without stripes like in the some of the pix. I still need to photshop the bright red mustang(previosuly photoshoped in first few images) with different kits or lips even for further review (since i will give the mustang a mild to moderate face/ass lift) but the assorted images that follow shall give you all something to compare/contrast between for the color, rim and stripe issue. You can compare dark red, dark purple/w.e., and compare bright red with the same few rims to better gauge an opinion.

im a big fan of fan road race, time attacks, ultimate streetcar challenges, gumball rallies(this isnt dirt/snow rally).....however i admire the clean nature of Japanese, Euro, and Exotics....part of me would build a car mimicing and paying tribute to the AmericanClubRacer and SuperSnake forms and function, while im partial to the clean builds portrayed by Gemballa, Porsche, and the builders of those S chassis Nissans(s13,s14,s15)

i know most of us know alot about the SS GT500 car but here she is so one can enjoy it and gives a recap of the stripes i would do. Also the stripes id consider based off of the beautiful ACR Viper.

I always have been a fan of Black wheels. The Matte Black is my favorite, however you would need some black accents on the car to pull it off I think.

The Ford FR500s (not the replicas) are a great road race wheel, not only in looks on either the New Edge or the S197, but are race inspired wheel! I personally don't like many of the wheels seen on import cars and the ones that end up on domestics as well... A wheel that is both nice looking on the Stangs and functional are the honeycomb BBS styles. I prefer a deep dish look on mine. I vote for the FR500s in either anthracite/grey or black. I also vote on a somewhat wide racing stripe (similar to the Viper) with or without pinstripes on both sides.

I like the stripes on the viper. That would look sick on the mustang, the New Edge more than the S197

^^^ i like that idea. i love the black rims with my red but i also agree you need some accents on the rest of the car in black. i painted my spoiler matte black to match the side mirrors but then you can't really do the stripes.

honeycomb bbs???

see im unsure about color and rim, because i find the wheels on the simple 240s to be nice choices and good color combos....they grey, anthracite and chrome choices flow well. i also love the ACR viper with its black rims, cf/black splitters, gemball mirage gt(red with black rims--modified porsche), and the porsche carrera gt with its simple color and body accents and the silver wheels. while i really love the ZR1 vette with its bright silver polished wheels, black roof section, black/cf splitters.
