5.o and tranny

Post by chrisverneuil on Fri Jul 23, 2010 9:59 am

So just wondering if anyone has a 5.0 and a t5 sittin around. If you do lemme know. I may just do a 5.0 swap in the mazda rx7. Looked into it and for a few hundred it can be done. Grannyspeed.com

A few hundred for the physical swap, but then how much to upgrade parts that the new power breaks???

Seems like it could be a fun project

My rear can hold up to the 5.0 for a while. As long as i dont dump the clutch shell last. Or put slicks on:) And damssssss thats a good deal for a 5.0 and the harness. Wish i had the room for it:( ill have the money thursday just zero room to throw a motor in

The 5.0 swap actually isnt that hard. Remove 12A rotary. Flip front cross member 180 buy granny speed motor mounts. Drive shaft and hydralic clutch kit. Install motor and driveshaft.. Hydralic clutch. Plum in a walbro 255. Splice in 5.0 EFI harness. Relocate radiator a lill more forward. Vola 83 RX7 5.0 with T5:)

I got a cheap 302 5.0 if anyone is interested. I would even trade any good parts for it. Complete engine from carb to oil pan. clutch/flywheel still attach.. make an offer.
