Painting, as in spraying is the easy part. Prep is the hard part... and keeping containments out.
Then when you spray it, without an updraft booth, you will get contaminates in each coat, that will have to be sanded, and buffed out.

Re: Painting my car
if you've never used or painted with automotive paints, you'd be best off having a pro do it, I have painted alot of stuff, and the hardest part, painting out in the open is keeping dirt out of the paint, it's easy to keep it out of the base in a 2 stage with frequent tacking between coats but when the clear goes on is when dust/ contaiminents in the air settle on the clear, wet sanding will be a must, I've painted in the open as I said but I always have to wet sand, you can make your own crude booth in your garage, but you'll still get some crap in the paint.GobigorGohome01 wrote:I was wondering how hard it would be to paint my own car????

I seriously suggest a professional painter in a real paint shop. You'll never be able to keep the job clean enough that you wont see the dirt under the paint and clear.
