New Update
Ok, I have a pretty big update on me and my fathers engine restoration. The passenger side is pretty much complete besides some minor touch ups on the wiring harnesses and the radiator hose. We have reached the main reason we started this project, to fix the giant rust hole in the driver side strut tower. It will be taken care of with some welding / Steel

5.0 Restoration Complete
about 98% done. Intake plaque is missing because i was detailing the paint on it. That should be done in about 2 days when I let it dry. This one has come along way and only cost me $320 in paint and some parts. Comments/ Criticism Welcome.

What is the purpose of the blue breather filter on the RH side?

When I got this car, it had that weird materialed line running with just a tube sticking up, it looked ridiculous.. We looked at a stock 5.0 and it had a cap on top, can't find the cap.. so we custom fit the breather on there.. only cost $7.

Dad says it is a "stupid emissions tube" There isn't much to show of it, it just runs from behind the block around the passenger side
yuck

Re: 5.0 HO Restoration
I figured it was for the thermactor, but why in the world would you have a breather on it?

looked ugly with just a green tube sticking up..

I might take the tube off, but dunno if that will set off a light or not, found the breather idea from a guy who had pics of his 5.0. I couldn't find an original cap to go on it, so that was the next best thing..

Re: 5.0 HO Restoration
if that is the hose that goes to the tube of the heads, it should be capped off and no it won't set a CEL off.
