Switching Tunes?

Post by alkemist on Sun Mar 14, 2010 10:29 pm

How much old octane gas can I leave in the tank before I switch tunes? Or is it better to run a tank of the new octane first before the switch?

You can always run a lower octane TUNE with higher octane GAS, but *NOT* the other way around.

87 tune with 91 gas
91 tune with 93 gas
etc

Try to get as close to empty as you can (I waited until the computer said 10 miles to empty), then fill up with the new octane. The dilution of the higher octane gas by what's left of the lower octane gas shouldn't give you any major problems.
