You are in the rite spot, this would be for any events you find out about, other then MPSF specific events, I put it on the calender, also, anyone that puts up events here, feel free to scroll down to the calender part of the posting page and add it to the calender, I try to keep up with that myself, but I'm sure I don't get them all.

Id like to go but I'll be in OC for Hot Rod Weekend

I hope some of you will consider going. The guys who are hosting this event are great people and love their Mustangs and just enjoy being out together, like you all do. I'm going to try to go to watch.. trying to get a group together in my area to drive over with also.

Really? From 8:30-4:30?

The $10 is the other site's fee, which is going towards pizza, trophies and drinks. You wouldnt have to take anything but you and your car that day.

I dont know what rentals usually cost...

Well considering we pay 50 bux for 4 hours, yeah that's expensive. Big deal, pizza. 10 bux more maybe.

No1FordGirl, that is a bit steep for track rentals, even for us hard core racing types. In general, we pay abou $50-$70 depending on the track rental type, and sometimes $100. Most of us balk beyond that. Heck, just to give you an idea, registration fees for professional races are "only" $125, so you can see why there's a strong reaction from a few folks.

Check around the site and you should find track rentals for Northern Virginia Mustang Club rentals at Mason Dixon for about $55 each event, and about the same for the Spring and Fall Superstallion events at Cecil County Drag Strip. Those event are certainly open to you and your club members.

There are a few more track rental events coming, including an S197 Mustang shootout in April at Mason Dixon Dragway, and another Mustang Shootout that I am sponsoring in the fall (more details later).

Thanks again for posting this here, and perhaps a few of our really hard core folks are interested.

John

I appreciate the feedback.

This isnt my event, I'm just helping to spread the word for the other group.

Why is it so expensive then? I asked him if more people signed up if the price would go down and he said it's that price regardless of how many.. so it is just the track they are renting?

I've never even been to Atco before.

That is by far the most expensive rental I've ever seen, and I've been to many, many "all day" rentals over the years. $100 for the whole isn't unheard of, anything more than that is frankly out of sight. Good luck recruiting...
