DC CRUISE! - Sunday, March 21st [DATE AND TIME CHANGED]
TIME HAS CHANGED DUE TO THE HISPANIC RALLY AT 2 PM IN DC! - WE WILL BE MEETING AT 9:30 AM IN BOWIE!
DATE HAS CHANGED FROM THE 28TH TO THE 21ST DUE TO THE INCREASED TRAFFIC VOLUME OF THE CHERRY BLOSSOM FESTIVAL
Date: Sunday, March 21st
Time: 9:30 AM, Leaving no later than 10:00 AM
Where to Meet: Bowie, MD - Lowes off of RT50/RT3
Finished around: 12:00-30 PM (Lunch after?)
Remember to Bring: TWO-WAY RADIOS
Just like last year we're going to do the DC Cruise again. Also, it is much later in the month due to the massive amounts of snow our area has gotten. Hopefully there will have been a few good rains to get the salt off the roads, and for those of you that are worried about the salt -- you guys would still be able to come out and have a fun time. From the pictures and videos last year of this cruise it looks like it was a blast, so if you can come, please make the effort!
The cruise is approximately 40 miles long and drive time will be around 1 hour. Based on the majority we can look at stopping near the White House for a walk onto the Washington monument for pics of National Mall. Possible photo-op stop by Capitol. WH and Capitol stops depend on activities in area. We will stop at the Iwo Jima Mem for pics and possible walk onto Arlington Cem. We can also stop at the Air Force Mem and Pentagon for the 9-11 Mem. Pictures of Pentagon from high ground at the AFM should be nice.
With drive time and stops we can look at being done around 1200 noon. Lunch is up to you, I figure that we'll make a decision once the time comes. Spur of the moment kinda thing.
Please note: TWO WAY RADIOS ARE STRONGLY RECOMMENDED ON THIS TRIP! Last year we had some problems keeping people together through the traffic lights.
(yeah I copied this pretty much straight from the thread last year haha :p )
Here's the route: (same as last year)
Bowie, MD - meet at Lowes off RT50/RT3
Drive in on RT50 to 201 Kenilworth/RT295
Exit at Howard Rd
Cross S. Capitol Bridge
Take Route 395S to Maine Ave exit onto Independence Ave
17th Street to Constitution Ave, up and around Capitol
Back onto Independence Ave,
Cross Mem Bridge,
Swing by Iwo Jima
Then to the AFM and last stop should be Pentagon.

Re: DC CRUISE! - Sunday, March 21st [DATE AND TIME CHANGED]
Sounds good! I can't recall how many Stangs we had with us last year, but I'm thinking it was around 20 or so and we had some difficulties keeping everybody together in the same direction through downtown with all the traffic signals and other traffic/pedestrians. It was still a great time though
Several people with two way radios is a must! I have a pair I bought last year for the D.C. cruise.

Looking forward to it! I updated the initial post about the two way radios and lunch.
Juan, I'd would like your help managing this thing if that is possible, since you ran it last year.
