Painted my new coil covers today....

Post by SVT_N8 on Mon Jan 18, 2010 4:41 pm

So after getting my "Powered By Ford" coil covers and looking at them in my engine bay they seemed a little bland. Decided to paint the lettering to add some contrast and help them pop. Turned out great, couldnt be happier.

You will need:
- painters tape
- your color choice of paint
- razor blade
- about 30-40 minutes per side and patience

Start off by covering the lettering with blue painters tape. Then, with your razor blade, carefully cut out the letters. Next, use the brush and your touch up painted to fill in each letter. Remove the tape and enjoy your new coil covers. If you have any paint that managed to get outside the lettering, and it will happen, just take your razor blade and carefully scrape it off. It comes off pretty easy. I image you could also use a rag with paint thinner and wipe off the excess.

Now for the pics (taken with my iphone :dw: )...

You should try to make it up to Jason's (TRBOVNM)house and see what has been going on with my termi. Oh well I'll let the cat out of the bag. The cracked intercooler pushed me over the edge. So now the new setup will be POSI ported blower, 2.8upper and a 2lb lower. Hmm can't wait for that 500hp. And now you got me thinking of something to add to my things I want to do. Since yours looks so good. Man I am jealous. When are you gonna put a pulley on that thing man. You do not know what you are missing out on.

Nice man, i am planning on sending my blower to Posi this December for a race port. He does awesome work, i'll be anxious to see your numbers. I am ordering the power package from Amazon Tuning here next month probably. It consists of a 2.76 upper, new belt, SCT and a tune.

Thanks Bernie!
