430hp to 605hp

Post by keisentraut on Mon Oct 19, 2009 10:26 am

While I was at the dealership, the service guys told me they could take my 2010 Roush and bump the hp from 430 up to 605 by adding a bigger supercharger, fuel pump, engine cooling system and so forth. My main question is how would all that added torque and stress affect other aspects of the car? Are there weak links such as clutch, driveshaft, transmission and so forth. I'd hate to drop $8k on getting more hp only to have that break other aspects of the car...

Thoughts?

Unless they went through some radical shortblock mod for 2010, the stock internals will not hold that... just food for thought, its more than just add ons to the engine itself, it takes some beefy rods/pistons.

Ditto! Not sure if Roush changed anything from their base Ford supplied 4.6 engines to take that kind of power safely. I know the P51 editions all have beefier internals to handle the power. No doubt, if driven hard, all the parts you mentioned could fail much sooner with that much added power.
