So i broke it again.

Post by Smokeurhonda on Sat Sep 19, 2009 10:21 pm

So as some of you may have noticed on the RFP cruise, I had no chin spoiler. This was because I accidently drove through a ditch in the pits of 75-80. Ok no big deal I can deal with that a get another $100 peice of plastic. Well yesterday leaving work, they have these Golf cart crossing which is pretty much a speed bump made out of concreate and cobblestone. Well, this bump I have scraped on before, but not real bad. Well this time going over it a 5 mph, I hear SCRAP BANG, and my exhaust all of a sudden got alot louder. Turns out the case of the muffler caught a lip on the cobblestone and split the case open like a bannana peel. This is a 500 bassani cat-back by the way. Yeah I'm not too happy. I sound like a friggin chevy pickup rustbucket now.

Car is lowered an 1.5" And I have scraped here and there before. But I've never seen this kinda damage before and never expected it on my car. I'm going to call bassani tomorrow and see if i can order just the muffler section

Found out it's gunna cost 95 bucks from bassani to get the muffler and flowtube. Cheaper then I thought it would be actually.

You gotta nurse it over speed bumps. My cobra is lowered 2 inchs and I have Borla stinger Cat back and Mac Prochamber. And I always go as slow as possible over speed humps.

Dude, I've been driving this car lowered for 5 years. Trust me I realize I gotta drive slow. It just caught it right.

Don't get some kind of attitutude man. Another thing you should look into is if the rubber hangers are worn. By the way you are the one who said 5 mph and know its probably more of a guess. But when I say nurse I mean grannieing it and riding the clutch. You will probably still scrape but you will also feel the car get hungup. So you will be able to react and back of before I don't know you have a hole in your muffler. Just my 10 years of expierence.
