Some helpful info

Post by chrisverneuil on Thu Sep 17, 2009 10:18 pm

Alright so i was browsin around the web and found something awsome that i hope to possibly do. http://e85mustangs.com/ check this out and read. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Air-fuel_ratio . from these two links i found out how we ALL 2005 and up at least have on board Air to Fuel ratio Sensors. This is awsome. The only problem is that so far I can only access this with my laptop with datalogging. But from this and some knowledge i hope to better tune my car for my needs and hopefully be able to do this E85 conversion. Come on 105 octane and 2 bucks a gallon come on

The issue of converting to e85 is that it takes 33% more fuel to make the same power. when you add it up its NOT more economical. HOWEVER if you are trying to make big power it is WAY more economical that c16 or any other high octane fuel.

I have personally seen e85 make 1139rwhp safely but it took 16 160lb injectors...

Stock injectors will not handle the fuel needs.

Alright i think i meanteioned how i was getting horrid gas mileage in my stang a while back. But if i didnt heres a refresh. Since starting my mods ive gotten the shittiest mileage The best that ive seen is like 19 highway, And like 13 city. Well i read online a while ago about increasing tire pressure to 5 pounds below max. Well i finally did that and OMFG now i get the limeage that im sopposed to. Weired. They were in flated to 35 standard for really anyone. I went up 10 to 45,6 punds below max. Oo and i put in the E3 sparks plugs. Ive noticed much smoother idle, Less hesitstation, And justa all around smoother accross all rpms. Just an FYI, Im goona get the pulstars sometime and give them a run also.

Mistake number one you got a V6 Sorry. Heavy car underpowered = bad gas mileage. If you wanted good gas mileage you should have bought a honda. Or get supercharged or turboed mustang more efficient and way better power. Try getting your hands on a 03 or 04 cobra. You will never go back to no stinking V6. Oh and by the way my car gets on average 15 to 16mpg city and 25 to 28 mpg hwy. And guess what its a V8 does your car make 454 hp. And get that kind of mileage. Sorry no offense I just don't understand getting a V6 mustang unless you plan on doing a V8 swap. And don't give me this my car is a V6 and has nitros. So it can keep up with your V8. Sorry fail.

Lol Well when i was shopping around i was trying to looke for the 2000-2004 gts but unfortanilly time ran out the the dealership where i went only had like 3 v6s and a Bullit. I cant afford a bullit or at the time a gt. So i hade to get the v6. For what it is, Its pretty dam good. Ya it could use more power. Ive thought about getting a 5.4 out of a wreck and do a conversion but right now i dont have the time or money to do. And no i dont have NOS. Though im sure i could try to keep up with a gt:) still got more plans for mods and i do plan on getting a X-Treme X-Charger:) If you happen to have a extra 454 Hp 4.6 layin aroun with a manuel ill take it:)

Well if you hit the Forums up over at SVTPERFORMANC.COM and look through the maca forums you would might find a 96 to 98 Cobra for sale in PA. It make 500 plus HP and by the way it has a 03 motor and hellion turbo kit. Oh did I mention it is only 12'000 dollars. Just be smart and keep your car basic and save your money for something you really want.
