I agree with John (Boss281). Mason Dixon is definitely the better track with better personnel. I go to 75/80 out of convenience (only been there once anyway since this was my first year racing my car). I can go to 75/80 friday night or Mason Dixon saturday if anyone wants to join. I've never been to Mason Dixon for TnT but I got about 10+ runs in at 75/80 for TnT last time I went.

75/80 SUCKS!!!!

I agree, if this is your first time, I suggest a nicer track, such as Mason Dixon. I would join you all this weekend but I will be heading to NC.

All you drag racers, what the heck. Fill up the gas tank and drive down to Charlotte for the Shootout this weekend.

What shootout? Haha Charlotte is just a ways away....

I may join you ^^ depends what I have going on this weekend. I have always wanted to go to the track, I'm just scared of breaking something. How many people do you think will be there? How much is it to enter? What time do you wanna meet there?

Bookmark http://www.masondixondragway.com/ for the local track. The North Carolina is a big S197 shootout but all Mustangs and Fords are invited to run. Not sure how many of the club members here are going but so far it's just a handful. We'll probably have 20 cars or so down there with a day to play, win trophies, and run grudge matches.

Racing can get expensive if you to be serious about it, and eventually something happens and things break--but come one, that can happen just as easily on the street, right?

I wouldn't worry, just start slow, get tips from other club members, and have fun. That Cobra, with a little practice, can probably pull in some great times even on street tires.

John

I know, it's always intrigued me. Finally a place where there isn't fear of blue/red lights behind you Smile I really do wanna try going, I'd probably run like 15 on my 1st try, but someone told me with a really good driver high 12's might be possible. I'd be happy with low 13's

well if you guys go to Mason Dixon let us know how you do. I'm sure we will all pull in another TnT before the tracks close, and some of us are racing at the SuperStallions track rental event at Cecil County Dragway on the 14th.

I definitely recommend giving it a shot...esp seeing from the mountain cruise, you've already got the burnout down Smile Like John said, there's always a risk of breaking something, but that same risk goes for the spirited driving on the street. This just allows for a controlled environment with some numbers to add to it! I've gone to the track 4 times now this year...it's addictive! I don't think you'll have any problems getting into the 13s with that car (bring a helmet just in case you do get into the 13s). My lil old GT is creeping closer and closer to the 12s Smile

I'm not sure how many people will be there. I've never gone to a TnT at Mason Dixon. I've only gone to the track rentals there that the NVMC puts on a few times a year. There's usually a good crowd showing up there for TnT after the rental so I would imagine quite a few cars show up. The website says it's $30 for the TnT. I would say we can meet at Mt. Airy around 930-945am. Takes about 45 min from there to get to Boonsboro. Gates open at 11am but I'm not sure how the line is getting in. I want to make sure I have space and time to get my DRs put on.

Anyone that's been to a TnT at MD have any insight on what to expect as far as the crowd and number of runs we should be able to get in?

The crowd varies Bronson but I wouldn't let that deter you. If the weather holds it should be spectacular conditions for a day at the track.

I know...I was just kidding. Giving yall a hard time for singling out the s197 Smile

If it wasn't 7 hours away, I'd be all over it. I'd hate to break something that far away!!! Maybe next year...

Good luck!

Mason Dixon may have a bit of a crowd but I wouldn't let that deter you either. Looking like temps in the 60s...

So Bronson, the way something like the 197 shootout comes together is, one person starts it, and others join in, soooooooooooo, how about you STEP UP! and start the SN95 shootout, Hmmmmmmmmm.

And damn I want to go to the shootout, but I just cant afford to get a room, I still mite go.
