spend my money

Post by KingMucha on Thu Jul 30, 2009 10:49 pm

im talking to a guy about this 67 mustang he has for sale not looked at it yet but he says 302 with an automatic tranny.
im excited but i no nothing of carburators and all that im 18 lol i no feul injection kinda. anyway i am trying to figure out the best way to spend my money. i am thinking carburator (no idea what to get) and long tubes with flowmaster set up. i think it would be really cool to have the midpipe exhaust cut-outs t think it is so you can go from mellow sound to straight off headers if you no what im talking about or if that even exists for this year. what do you think. consulting my elders. Smile

this is what im looking at
http://www.flowmastermufflers.com/products/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=4175&zenid=98724f2f594eaa87972dafab11240bcb

and then im lost ahen it comes to carbs. i dont even no if that flowmaster exhaust system will match up with the headers. but anyway other plans
magnum 500 wheels and goodyear tires with raised white letters
painting it cream with black le mans racing stripes. simple like i like it.not a bad car for 4000 all together

why worry about spending money on a car you don't have/own?

First get the car and drive it. Then worry about that stuff. U probably will need to spend plenty of money on other things first.

Ya and you cant just go buy a carb, you have to get the rite one for your motor, or you wind up with too much or too little, you cant just tune the computer around it, there isn't one LOL

dontg worry about the carb. ive had 3 67's and they were super easy to work on but id highly recommend getting a manifold at the same time as the carb (the equivelent of getting a CAI o0n your car or mine) and do that first. this car will teach you where everything started tho for sure.

but i do agree with orangelx, you will be fixing plenty of other stuff first before you get to the mods..but the good news is it will be super cheap if you do the work.

Like the guys said, get the car, fix it, drive it, then mod it.

My last carb motor was a 318 small block in a 1984 5th Ave. In 1989 I tossed all the emissions crap in the trash. I put built P&P heads, 3/4 roller race cam, roller lifters, roller rockers, 1/2 manifold spacers, hi-rise duel tunnel ram, two 375 cfm 1 barrel carbs, all from Edelbrock. I had a local shop make a custom exhaust for me with hand made LT's, a catt-less H-pipe, and Cherry Bomb Glass Packs.

Sniffed it out to 440 at the wheels. God was that car fast. It was the only lux car I have ever seen with a scoop to cover the carb sticking out of the hood! LOL
