Look dude if it is an xcal 3 keep it. I have had issues with my xcal before and sct is awsome with customer service. If you have any questions or issues just contact them. I mean you have to talk to AM but call SCT first they will give you more accurate info and help. Also SCT is able to fix most issues with Xcal 3 by using remote direct.

Mine is pretty quick. It does take a little while for tunes to go from the CPU to the XCAL., But gettiing the tune into the Car cpu is pretty quick as well. You might want to call SCT customer support. Trust me the wait on hold is worth it.

Hmm well back in august with o3silvergt had a diablo and his took like 10 sec to boot and accessing any menu was like a sec. Mine takes like 30 too boot and 10 to 15 to load menus.

Sorry to hear about your experience. From what I have gathered, AM's tunes are towards the bottom of the list. I have no idea why they would configure a tune that would not operate correctly. I purchased my tuner and tunes from Brenspeed, currently in the works. I heard Bamachips is really good too, possibly better than Brenspeed but they are a bit behind right now and may take a little bit to get to you. You may be able to find someone else to write a good tune for that tuner.. No idea if AM will refund you.
