Front end
In my endless quest for front suspension silence, I upgraded my stock strut mounts for some J&M's. Nice piece, I thought....
The stockers started out squeaking after I put the Eibach springs on it, it really bugged me. I left it like that for about 5 months. Then I took the stock mounts out and threw some axle grease in the bearings to see if that would silence my squeaks. It worked for a little while, then I ran across J&M's heavy duty strut mounts. I installed them when I installed my Eibach front/rear sway bars. I got rid of the squeaks and ended up with a clunk
I searched the net and came across a site that talked about the sway bar poly bushing causing a clunk from the front suspension. So I took the new front sway bar off and put the old one back on, still have the clunk
I checked to make sure all the nuts and bolts were tight, no problems there.
So here's my guess, there's got to be a bad bearing, the play in the hyme bearing could be bouncing around just enough in the socket when I hit bumps. I had to reuse the stock rubber bushing for the upper spring perch. Rubber doesn't make noise like that, so it's got to be the strut mount itself. Any ideas??

Re: Front end
LOL sorry man.
I read this when you posted it. However I ahve no clue without hearing it myself. I wish I knew for sure, but I have not had this issue yet.
My guess off hand would be that its the upper shock mounts. I have not read much about the j&m pieces, but I know for a fact that the gt500 upper mounts work and they cure the knock, and squeek.

Re: Front end
I have no idea either. Ever since I pulled the stock mounts out and replaced them with the Steeda mounts nearly 20K miles ago, I've never had an issue... The GT500 mounts would at least be an inexpensive try at under $70...
