Fixing my paper weight... :P
Ok so I lack in tools and equipment to do most jobs but as most "backyard mechanics" i can scrounge up enough to get by...as most of you know over the winter when i took the '68 for a short warm up run she decided to go kaput. She does run but the transmission won't go into gear only park to neutral...neutral to park...no matter what gear you are in it acts like neutral. So now that its warming up Ive gotten motivated to start fixing her...
my first task was to drop the trans pan and see if anything was floating around in the trans fluid because how low the bang was i heard when the trans went out I was worried...luckily the fluid looked fine no metal shaving, and no parts in the fluid...
since my jack has gone missing i cant get the car up to look at the trans closer. I would like to remove the transmission myself then take it to a expert to look at...but with lack of equipment im stalled on that. My only other option is track down a car trailer and tow the car with my truck to a shop. These are the only two options i see currently but im open to new ones.
any suggestions?

I have a Jack
I have a f-350 with a car trailor
Sounds like you either blew a front pump. Not enough power to break anything in a c4 yet.

Re: Fixing my paper weight... :P
I talked to a few guys at Jim Jennings and they said the same thing about that they think i blew a front pump and they think it happened because of the lag in shifts from second to third due to a belt that is instead the c4 that controls the 2nd to 3rd shift and it commonly comes loose this time it was just more strain
ok so thats good you have a trailor incase i need one
yeah my tundra should pull it fine

Re: Fixing my paper weight... :P
Only reason I would say uise my truck is that the trailor has brakes and needs a brake contoller. Also the wiring harness plug is a large 6pin style, which most tundras come with he 4pin.
Or some day let me know and I will just tow it for you.
I think Zak has a rollback as well LOL
