Mason Dixon Track Rental 4/4 - official results
Post your personal bests and experiences today. First, hats off to NVMC and yet another spectacular track rental event. Second, thanks to lots of MD Patriots present to represent the club--they chose racing instead of a car show. Welcome to the pod. Everybody post there times and thoughts on the car.
Some notable observations:
1. John (Kooldawg6) - welcome to the 12 second club. I hope my shakey hands don't ruin my video of that event, but I DID get it. And nicely done paint and mods BOSS! You scared the living daylights out of me that first run, but I knew at the trap that you had 12s in you. Congrats
2. Bernie - folks, we now have to endure that fact that Bernie got into the 11s before I did, and he won't let anyone forget it. Then he parks that pristine evil looking white Fox and gloats. Nicely done man!
2. Laura - I think someone has been bitten by the racing bug!. Laura, you got some balls there and plugged out stellar times for your mods. You did better than I did the first time out with my car. Get that Hurst in there and you can beat the crap out of the shifter down the track.
3. Pikuoff - Last I saw him he was adjusting air in his street tires. He he, getting a bit serious now, isn't it bro? Want yet another tenth out of it, don't you!
Remember, Superstallions track rental at Cecil at the end of the month. Prepay now before they close the roster!!

Re: Mason Dixon Track Rental 4/4 - official results
Last time out I got 12.40 at 111. I've since added delete plates and inexplicably lost power through out the power band--they should have improved upper rpm power, and the car doesn't feel as strong as the dyno curve shows. I could hook fine, but the car just felt weak, and shouldn't have with that cool, dry air. Zach, my son (and fox body owner/racer), took it out 3 times and beat the crap out of it, but couldn't best my time. He agreed the delete plates/cam combo have killed the car from the 330 foot mark and beyond, and the car was much stronger before the delete plates.
I'll have the delete plates off, and the new C&L manifold installed for the next track rental.
Best:
60ft.....1.650
330......5.245
1/8......8.181
mph.....83.00
1000....10.667
1/4......12.749
mph.....108.66

Re: Mason Dixon Track Rental 4/4 - official results
WOW, what an AWESOME day!!!! and "awesome" doesn't even describe it!! i AM soooo glad i opted to go race instead of standing around looking at cars........thanks to everyone(Bernie, Suz, Bronson, Mike and Johnx2) for the input and advice.....and an overall GREAT day!!! the pizza sure did top it off at the end of things.
I must say, i didn't get much sleep last night because i was so nervous/excited for today. a few times i thought about bailing, but i'm sure as hell glad i didn't!! i couldn't even eat this morning with all the butterflies i had turning in my stomach. well, when we got there, Bernie showed Bronson and I the ropes. basically, showed us how to read the tree and all. I stood back for a little while and let those 2 make a couple passes before i finally got the nerve to make my first pass.
My first pass was solo, which was great...no pressure. i had enough pressure from myself. i was a little shaky on the first one, running a 16.071, while i missed 3rd gear. but that first one got the jitters out and so i went right back into the staging lane for my 2nd pass. again, this one was solo. much better than the first, running a 14.262 at 101 mph. i was getting the feel for it, and as i came back around i knew i was hooked.....i had that "shit-eating" grin on my face.
Bronson and i went a few times together....me beating him the first couple go-arounds, as the others i kept missing 3rd gear. we went back and forth the remainder of the day, but towards the end, after he lowered the tire pressure in his tires and was sticking more, he kept inching ahead of me. it was a good time!!!
i averaged in the high 13's and low 14's......which i guess isn't bad for a newbie.
my best:
r/t..... .717
60..... 2.176
330.... 5.915
1/8.... 8.983
mph... 78.82
1000.. 11.563
1/4.... 13.737
mph... 103.59
and that was against John(kooldawg).....he pushed me to get my best!!
i had the best reaction time of the day.......... .001!
overall, i made 19 passes!!! not bad for a frist time!! and I AM HOOKED!!!! when's the next drag day?!
thanks again, to NVMC and all you guys who helped pop both, Bronson's and my cherry, when it comes to the drag racing world!!!
WOOOHOOOO!!!
sleepy time now!
and thanks, John(boss281) for the hurst shifter!!!

I dont have my slips but my best was:
E/T 13.720
R/T .081
60 1.985
1/8 8.880
MPH 102.15
And that was after Bernie told me to let some air out of my tires and was against Laura on my 3rd to last run.
I had a blast. Thanks for all the help B!!! Thanks for deciding to come out and play Laura!
Can't wait til the next one...I'm hooked (unlike what my car did at the line)!!!
In all, I made 19 passes! Missed second a couple times and decided to stage with my rear tires my first time but it's all good!! Let's see some video!

New personal best!!!
Yo yo yo, It was a great day for racing. Temps were perfect for a boosted car!! A lil too windy but that didn't seem to affect much. I know everyone had a great time, I def did. for me, here's how it went.
Today was a local private track rental for a local Mustang club. So
after much anticipation, a new set of 4.10's, (thanks Mike) and a tad
bit taller tire I gave it my best. Last years one and only outing
yielded a very disappointing 12.34 @115.08 for my fastest run. Previous best was 12.09 @117.97 the year before.
So my first 2 runs were kinda carbon copies of last years, 1.9 60's,
(previous 60's were 1.7's) and a pair of 12.4's. My trap speed was back up at 117.78 and 118.41 respectively. I was trying coming out a lil softer by slipping the
clutch. Didn't seem to be working out like I hoped.
I can feel the disappointment already starting to set in.
The third run, I went back to high rpm launch and droppin the hammer which got me a nice 1.630 60' and a 12.171 @116.22. Finally heading back in the right direction
Forth run, dropped the hammer, 1.522 60' for an 11.798 @117.36
Fifth run, 1.586 60' for an 11.761 @116.81
Sixth and last run, 1.655 60' for a 12.277 @102.56 I ran out of gas the
last run.
By the 1000' mark the car was sputtering like crazy.
Here's the vids!! I finally broke into the 11's!!!

Had some coaching form the sidelines to help me get on track. Thanks
Mike!!! (mjr46) It's def easier when someone is watching that can tell you
what's going on w/ your car from the outside about things you can't see
from the inside.
Glad the newbs blew off the car show, listened to me and popped their cherries! Laura and Bronson, congrats on becoming drag racin fooo's!! Glad I was able to help you enjoy a new hobby!!
I have plenty of video to up load, so as soon as it's done, I'll post it up for you all.
Big thanks to NVMC for yet another great drag day!!!
