April Meet 4/26/09 USMC Museum cruise

Hey Juan, I changed this to the official April Meet Thread, the other one is as usual, out of control
OK, so since there are 8 + pages on the April cruise thread with NO direction on a VA cruise I am throwing this out there.

Sunday morning cruise to the USMC Museum down in the Dumfries/Quantico area on April 26th......

We can meet up at the Burtonsville/Holy Donut cruise @ 9am, check out all the rides at the cruise and leav there around 10am. Its about an 1 1/2 hour drive to Dumfries so if we make a photo stop or a meet stop for any VA Stangs, we can be at the Museum around 12-1230pm. Museum looks pretty big so we can easily kill at least 2-3 hours there. It looks like they have food on site and a liitle pub for a quick sandwich or drinks for those not wanting to walk around....

Aftetward we can check out a dinner spot or if any of the VA crew want to have us over for a BBQ please post up......

I am NOT familiar with the VA area at all, so please post up if route will work to get some miles in, and who can take point after the beltway....

wow...alot going on this month!!

ummmm, well, i don't care what we do. i am fine with this either way. traffic is going to suck around that area to fore-warn you. but if we took rt. 1 or 301 down, it might not be that bad.........

I recently did that museum with some of my family, its a great cruise rout, especially from Alexandria, the tun tavern is a full service pub with great food, and they have a mess hall for larger groups, there is plenty of parking, around 300 spots... also some really cool exhibits for photo ops, and a tower to shoot down for a great group shot

Juan, let's make this official!!! i didn't see the map at work, but now that i see it, it should be a nice cruise!! i think this shoudl be our April Meet cruise, period!!

Nate, I believe u were the one that originally suggested a VA cruise, def interested to see if this works forya???? or if ya want to tweak it....
