The sun!: get those cars washed!

Post by Boss281 on Sun Mar 29, 2009 4:04 pm

With the crap weather this weekend I completely wasted time drinking, surfing the web, watching movies, and doing office work from home. A few hours back the fog up here lifted and the sun came out. I ran out and got the cars washed--everything was covered with crud from the last week--although as I type this we just had another round of rain come in and got everything wet. Have to dry it all off once it clears soon. I don't have pics from today but I took these two weeks back after washing the daily driver, open track car and drag car off. Man I love my Mustangs:

Looks good John. I didn't wash mine today, but I did manage to get my slicks on in anticipation of next Sat drag day. Also took the bike out for a short hop.

I'm stuck at work all day. This morning was rainy and nasty, but it sure did turn out to be a really nice day after all... tomorrow is supposed to be even nicer too.

I'm going to look at a used F150 this week too--need something to tow that '05 to out of state races this year. My old '97 has had the S@%# beat out of it by my oldest...

I found a couple in the area from either private owners or on dealer's lots, from 2005 to 2007, with less than 60k, 5.4l engines and tow packages. Range from supercrew to 4 door crew cabs, and $17k-20k in price. I want either black or red if I can find one. Will need to add a brake controller (ok, and dual exhausts, and probably cold air, and a tune.....) and then look for a decent trailer.

Part of me wants to get a brand new one, since the redesign is pretty cool, but it's mostly going to sit except for towing or crappy weather commuting so that just isn't making sense, even with the deep discounts.

If you are going to be towing a lot... get a diesel... I get 22mpg unloaded Loaded with a 20' trailor, and my car on it I get 18mpg. I pass other trucks with trailors going uphill.

I've heard the diesel suggestion a couple of times, but I'm just not a fan. Plus, I can work on any mod motor myself in the garage or driveway. For me, it's not the mileage but ease of maintenance and overhauling.

What do you have, a 250?
