Re: Pro 5.0 shifter install
I will stop by ford. Hey Will the manual tells me that I need 3 quarts of gear oil. Can i take the extra back then I bought 4 and get the additive from them?

Re: Pro 5.0 shifter install
ok so
3 quarts should be enough.
That is a ford part number for the addative.
As for the center console its tricky...
First thing you take out is the center console piece. There are a couple screws inside of the armrest. Once they are out the center console lifts up
Then there is two wing looking pieces that are like inner kick pannels. They rotate up and out of the way. Once they are off you can get to the 4 screws holding the head unit in. The head unit has 2 wiring harnesses hooked up to it in the back with the antenna jack also.

OK, the oil senser that I am going to tee off of, is that the one that is attatched to the oil filter housing. If so then I can probably have this done by sat. Do you remember what wires you used to attatch the white and red one to and did you fuse the 12v one. Mine are electric. I have everything else that we need for the rear brakes to. Just let me know what day this weekend works for you. I will have it jacked up and the rear tires off and ready for what ever day we choose. Thanks alot. By the way what kind of beer do you drink Will? Want to have some coldies ready for when we are done.

Re: Pro 5.0 shifter install
one more dumb question but better ask. Do i have to drain the oil in order to install the T and sensors back in?

Re: Pro 5.0 shifter install
It will weep a little out of the sensor hole. Preferably you will undo it and let it weep for about 20 min. If there is synthetic on the threads it will eat through the teflon tape. I usually clean everything with a spray of brake clean. then blot it dry before I screw it in with teflon tape.
I hooked pretty much all of my guages into the light switch and dimmer module. Then I can dim everything and works all with the interior lights switch.
Teh light switch just pops out and I followed them down a little till it hits the kick panel.
Hope this helps
BJ, I will be riding up in PA on Saturday. Lets plan for Sunday for the brake install.

Re: Pro 5.0 shifter install
Sounds good. So the sensor on the side of the oil filter is the one that I want to replace with the tee correct? Does anyone remember what wires on the factory harness are the correct ones for the 12v swithch then the light wire
