FINALLY GOT MY UCA/LCA's ON!!!
Well after all this workin on nates car this weekend it really got me in the mood 2 work on mine... I was about 20 min into the install and they said i need 2 knock out a weight in the axle bracket that was tack welded... so after about 20 min of hammering w/ a chisel i call will up and ask him if he had an air chisel... so now will joined the party and about 2 hours after he showed up we finished everything up... The UCA and LCA's w/ relocation brackets...now this rain needs 2 take a hike so i can test her out....

now i feel like i need 2 order more parts now that everything is installed... if anyone wants 2 give me $1500 i can start ordering...

Note to self... don't put finger in between hammer and head of bolt while Zak is hammering... Dumb slip on my part
I'm still wondering how that top bracket comes out... I would have figured it out if I didnt break the bulb on the drop light...
I will figure it out on mine though soon...

Re: FINALLY GOT MY UCA/LCA's ON!!!
Nice job, Zak and Will
I wonder why some cars have the axle weights while others don't??? Mine didn't have them...
Zak, you gonna get the relocation brackets welded up so they can take abuse with stickier tires? I've seen first hand what happens when you launch hard and they're not welded...just ask John (BOSS281)...
The weather is to start clearing up and be in the 50-60s the next few days!

Re: FINALLY GOT MY UCA/LCA's ON!!!
The design is way different than the BMR.
BMR has failure points as you can see and is not 1/4 inch steel

The Metco is 1/4 inch steel and is boxed with a steel tube through the center that doesnt allow any movement. It also uses the axle tube to wedge itself in and the boxed in back side wedges itself into the back of the stock location bracket. it then has a tube that runs through the center that is welded in that houses the stock LCA bolt.

However it wouldnt hurt to weld them. I think they are bulletproof the way they look. I dont think I could bend them even if I ran over them with my bulldozer.

Not sure why the instructions called them weights because they are not. The large weight on top of the tube was added after build dates of August 06.
The two circular welded nuts we had to remove were inside of the stock bracket. The were drilled and tapped inside like something was to be installed there. They were about inch and a half wide and 1/4 inch thick. THey had three spot welds that held the "circular nut" on. It prolly weighed 6-7 oz.
