Putting my Blower on this weekend!

Post by Smokeurhonda on Thu Mar 12, 2009 4:19 pm

Hey guys, here is the back story. Car was down for 9 months because the rear kept effin up on me. So now that the car is running I want to take the blower that has been sitting in my closet since the summer and get it crankin. It is a new in the box Vortech SQ aftercooled kit. I need a few things if anyone has them laying around.

A stock 6 rib alternator pulley to replace my underdrive one.
About 15 foot of battery cable to relocate the battery to the trunk.
Stock exhaust manifold studs and nuts,( i'm replacing my leaking shorties with stock manifolds as well as the locking bolts that suck)
IAT sensor
Small worm hose clamps for the aftercooler lines( I've been advised that the plastic ones from vortech suck ass)
30 pack of beer
Anyone that is bored that wants to hangout and give a hand
My sanity

I've been inspired after cruising with alot of cars that are morepowerful then mine to get my ass in gear and get blown. If anyone is interested in a FULL ZEX WET KIT, let me know.

Well I actually didn't get it started till yesterdayevening . It's kinda been going slow but I've been trying to get everything in order. Here is what is done so far,

The whole Nitrous system has been removed from the car. Will be in for sale section shortly.
New fuel pump installed,
New injectors installed,
Underdrive pullies removed, and damaged in process. Thanks Robbie
C clamp damaged while removing underdrive pullies Thanks ROBBIE
Coolant resevior drained and removed, damaged in process THANKS ROBBIE
Crank Pully chipped while seperating from underdrive pully, THANKS ROBBIE
ECM removed and shipped to vortech for baseline tune

So In 30 min my buddy managed to break 4 things. I think that is a new record. All in all we actually know what we are doing, and he has so many spare parts laying around we can probably break the whole damn car. Kinda funny.

K member is gettin dropped today to swap back to stock headers, and swap oil pans for one with a bung welded on for oil return. After that the rest of the blower goes on. I'll have pics prob by tonight.
