Re: Get Out Of The Cold 2009 new thread
they should be running the mustangs in our own lane, like they did the past 2 years, we set around and BS with everyone until they call us to our lane, and then they run all the mustangs, then back to there other customers until they call us up to our lane again, and they will run us against each other as well if we like.

I hate when they do that, because it takes way too much time compared to just going to the lanes whenever you're ready to make a pass.I think I may wait and run the next weeken at Mason for the first NVMC drag day.
If like last year they ran GOOTC group seperate but if you wanted more runs just go back to staging lanes and run with your class.

Re: Get Out Of The Cold 2009 new thread
Its still kind of a jacked way to run a T&T....it should just be open lanes, go make a pass when you want or are ready. Thats cool they give the Mustangs a chance to run together, but its nearly impossible to do any actual testing or tuning with long gaps between runs; the weather can change too quickly around here and skew your results. Not to mention consistent engine temps and other variables that change when the car sits for too long between passes. It doesnt matter for people that just want to make passes, but for those that actually want to test or work on the tune it sucks.

Thats the thing. For the mustang group, its more fun just a fun 'lets see what time i can get' runs. No one is really there trying to test and tune because you can do that any other week at a track. The other guys get a couple runs so they can really test and tune.

Its for fun, yes if your a die hard racer you mite not enjoy it, GOOTC isn't for test & tune, its just a way to keep the price down for a Mustang event, some folks don't even run, its just for fun, like Alix said, you can do a real test & tune any time, without having to travel 2 hour's to the track, you got Cecil, Mason Dixon, Capitol and this year 75/80 will be re opened.
GOOTC is just a chance to get together with other Mustangs after a long winter that has the toys put away, and only us die hard's that run our cars all the time out.
I love it cause I get to set around a BS with everyone, and get to run the car with out having to worry about the PoPo chasing me, and at most test & tunes, they will not let you run against each other, and thats just a lot of fun.

GOOTC may not be for Test & Tune, but there will be a Test & Tune, Gamblers Race, and Swap Meet all going on at the same time.

MIR is only like 30 minutes from me...lol.
I undertsand what you're saying, but im sure some people would also like to test parts or do some tuning changes while there.

If you want to test and tune after your run just go back to staging lanes. most of the mustangs that was with Gootc went back to pits the guys that wanted more runs went back to staging lanes.the way it looked like last year they ran 3 different classes but ask Boss281 he got extra runs in

I understand that, but MIR will not have the lanes open for whomever all day. They will be calling you up by ET brackets, which sucks. Not to mention my car wont pass tech. Which also sucks.

Re: Get Out Of The Cold 2009 new thread
Doubt I'll run faster than 14 with the Crapitumos. I do plan on losing a few thousand miles worth of tread though
I'll trade you a Canon HD Camcorder for a days use of a helmet (just in case I manage to hook)
