David Hance runs 223 at Bradenton - drag radial record

Today there were teams testing at Bradenton for the US Nationals this weekend and Dave Hance ran an amazing 7.05 @ 223 on drag radials, being the fastest ever recorded. After running 219 Wednesday afternoon, Dave ran 223 on his second pass Thursday. He pedaled the car several times during the run as it experienced a little tire shake about 40 feet out and made a move to the left. He was driving the car all the way down the track trying to keep it in the groove. The 1/8 mile was 4.70 @ 160.

What tires exactly did he have on? I want them.

Amazing!!!!! I was at FFW in Bristol back in '99 and the Pro 5.0 cars were just barely breaking into the 200 MPH mark with tubbed rears and wide slicks! That car looked scary fast off the line! I couldn't find what tire he was running, but the MTs I have (same size) had been on a mid 9 second GT500. It's all about proper car settings to maximize any tire.

It was a 315 MT DR.
