so how do you get into this and where is there around here to race?
basically I want to know the following:
-wheres the tracks?
-do you need a racing license/certificate or something?
-is there anyone here that has or does race these courses

my friend went 2 a few scca events...they were a lot of fun...they go 2 different huge parking lost and put of cones for a course...he also has went 2 summit point and i think all he needed for that was 2 pass a tech inspection

does your car have to be street legal to race or somethin or do they just kick the tires and make sure it wont fall apart.

check out NASA and SCCA but a coworker does NASA autox if im not mistaken. and NASA is the main sponsor for grassroots racing if i recall, compared to SCCA.
race class depends on mods and what vehicle you have. like a mustang is place in class d. but as you do certain mods you get points. once a certain number of points obtained you are graded/compete on the next level being class c, due to the cars rating.

Ron, there are several of the NVMCers who do the rally and road course racing/schools. They have a Forum section for just that. I'd like to get out there at least once and do both the parking lot rally and the road course.

You've already got the upgraded (stock Brembo) brakes and now the better springs! A good set of track tires and you should be pretty set!

Good brakes and sticky tires is a must, or you'll be all over the place. I have a friend with a 427 Cobra that posts some of the fastes times. I rode with him in his car at RFK, and it was pretty amazing. Not for the faint of heart.
