Post by 96gtJohn on Wed Jan 27, 2010 11:49 am

Spent the night installing a new tank, filler neck and fuel level sender. Now I have gas over flow and the meter always reads full

Hard to say I know you don't want to take it to a mechanic or a ford dealership they just kill your wallet but i have never ever worked on a tank and all that so you might just have to take one for the team

So it's splashing out? From where? If so, you must not have sealed something correctly. You need to be a lil more specific w/ your info.

Need more info...

Most causes of this is the o-ring on the top of the pump housing is pinched, and not seated properly. Its most unlikely that the fill tube grommet/gasket ring is not installed properly.

Most of the time when turning the lock ring its pinches the o-ring and makes ot come out of the seat. Second thing is when installing the huosing the fuel level float/sender can not be bent, or twisted. It als MUST be in the baffle area with the filter socks INSIDE the baffle. If they are not they can interfere with the float, or worse, cause the pump to lose pressure at low fuel levels.

Lastly chack your wiring. There are two plug harneses that connect to the tank, one for the pump and one for the sending unit. Make sure both are connected properly, and none of the wires are pinched grounding it, and causing false readings...

OK I moved this one to the 5.0 Mustangs Forum, it was in events, and doesn't belong there.
You guys are driving me nuts

I didn't set them up, and the description said Foxes to SN95's, So maybe we need a forum just for SN95s, but at any rate, it doesn't go in the events thread.
