Fireworks....

Post by BCP on Fri Jun 26, 2009 6:01 pm

Not sure what you guys are planning to do for Independance Day, but Chesapeake Beachhas a pretty nice fireworks display on 03 July and Solomon's Island has theirs on 04 July.

Chesapeake Beach Fireworks
July 3rd @ Dusk
Right in front of the Rod-n-Reel
4160 Mears Ave. [ View Map ]
Chesapeake Beach, MD 20732

Largest fireworks display on the bay; music, food and games. The fireworks are discharged right in front of the Rod-n-Reel. But, any spot along the water in Chesapeake Beach should give you a good view. People typically start arriving between 5 and 6 p.m. So, get there early in order to find parking and procure a good spot. 410-257-2230.

Solomons Fireworks
July 4th @ Dusk
Solomons, MD

Come by boat or by land to enjoy this festive event in Solomons. The Solomons Business Association once again invites the citizens of Calvert County to sit back and enjoy 4th of July Fireworks over Solomons Island. Given the height of this spectacular show, people located anywhere on the island should have a good view of the fireworks.

Some pics I shot at last years show in Chesapeake Beach..............

We have a great show in Middle River, it will be on Saturday the 5th, I've been to the Balto show, and the Middle River show is better, or at least it has been in the past, you can see it from Eastern yacht club and also if you head all the way down to the end of Boulys Quarters rd, if your going by boat, its rite where Sue Creek and Middle River intersect, and Sue Creek is a great place to anchor over night, as well as a bunch of spots up in Middle River, unfortunately my boat isnt running and you cant see the fire Works well from our marina, or I'd take her out, but maybe next year, if so I'll invite you all.

Saturday is the 4th, so do you mean Sunday the 5th? If it's the 4th, we'd probably be able to come, but the 5th we're having our own shindig here.....

if your going to dc for the show and you have a military id (or contractor id) you should definatly go to FT MCNAIR. its a great view you can sit right on the water and there is no one there (cause you need an id to get on base) and they have picnic tables there to hangout on to.
