go to calmustang.com they have a fold away frame kit for $50. im going to buy one. or put in it in the window. some cops care some dont. its still displayed. corvettes dont even put them in the window. if you dont have any holes in the bumper keep it that way and do one of the things i just mentioned.

Check with him on any Troopers he knows with the MD Stangs, they may want to check out/join the site...

LOL just cuz he's a trooper doesn't mean other cops will not bother you. Just try it, and wait til you get stopped.

You'll need to have your car/s Md inspected also.

yah, i know i have to get inspected, register, etc. I know other cops will bother me. I think i'm gonna get a flip down plate holder like vette owners use. I'll ask him about mustang troopers, he is a big ford guy and i think he mite buy a foxbody to play with sometime in the future. I can get him to come to meets etc with his cruiser. He can take it anywhere in MD on or off duty anytime.

i talked to my brother yesterday, its only a $60 fine for no front plate and for the most part the only way you'll get one is if you get pulled over for another reason.

Also, any place you guys recommend that is a little "helpful" with inspections? You can pm me if you'd like. I think my windown tint mite be a couple % too dark. Its 35% but i think the factory glass had some light tint in it.

my tech just txtd me his response to tint. even though it may be 35% a md state inspection requires the removal of it unless there is a sticker that states 35% in a lower corner of a window.

also he had to fail an inspection on a 06 GT bc it had corsa exhaust (straight through mufflers...he passed the on ei bought --i bought it much later after the inspection---bc it had flowmasters, a chambered muffler on it)

thus looking at your mods. id say you only have to worry (maybe) about the lamps and the tint...you have chambered mufflers, so you should be fine there. go someplace cheap. its pricey to get one done at a dealer. i think heisel and jet machine shop do inspections for cheap by me (pasadena/glenburnie).

also i have yet to see him measure headlamp height...i also dont believe headlamp aiming is done often. also per state police even though a bulb works and it has water in the lamp....one can not fail it. lol. per state police it must be passed. i forget the law in regards to windows and cracks on them. also, front window tint can not be present, and if one has the upper section tinted it cannot go lower than 6" down i believe.

Your tech? Are you a shop owner?

I'm sorry, but if there is water inside of a lens, it does fail. Water splashing around inside the lens can/will blow out the bulb. If you're not an inspector it would be wise NOT to pass along second hand info that is not correct. I've been a Md state inspector for about 20 years now.

Oh, BTW, you do know you can edit your posts to add info instead of making a new post?

yea i forgot about editing posts...and not trying to give bad info or such of that nature. we all were shocked to hear that bs of an answer.

im not an inspector...however, i was standing there when the state trooper (assuming head trroper)who was teaching the newb (new station/district inspector trooper), and testing our inspector....he asked our inspector that...and our inspector said hed fail it....the trroper said it would be passed, because it operates properly and can be aimed.

i am a tech. i do mostly trans work, do alot of alignments too. i do oversee/watch many inspections and try to stay up to date on such bc i plan to be on eventually.

i asked my tech about the tint and waht state law mandates/what would be done if one came in for an inspection.

You are correct on the tint, but the water thing is just not so. I've had a lot of different troopers over the years and the one thing I can say, is there is very little consistancy between them. They all like things a certain way, and most are not the same in opinions. Who is the trooper at your shop?

i have to check we had one trooper, they got rid of him. thus the reason we had 2 troopers come in andsweep the shop lol and go off that certain tools dont gt used even thoguh one has their own calibrated instruments for inspections only...i have to check, but it looked like the head/teacher wasnt very old maybe like mid 30s, and the newb looked older lol...i'll check though. of course nothing is ever consistent lol, damn trooper and thier schemes/opinions.

So i have to have a sticker thats says the % on it? everywhere else i've been they just put this thing up to your window and it measures how much light passes through. I think I hate MD already Smile If they do make me remove it i'd only have to remove the front side windows, rite? I just had the tint put on 4mo ago too. No one knows any inspection places that mite let it slide?....say for an extra $20 on the side
