Re: Get Out of the Cold - 2009
I'm down this year. couldn't go last year because of work. This will be my first time at the track so I can't wait to see what my baby can do.
Last year it was fun checking out all the trash talk'in on some of the other forums. I think paul and george from out group had it out on the track last year. Not sure who won though.

So if I want to head to this thing, how do I go about doing it? And what kinds of cars are there to race? Am I going to embarrass myself with my mostly stock Sheila?

There is a ton of different cars there, but we will be sectioned off as a large group of mustangs. You wont embarrass yourself its just a good time and fun racing with other mustang owners. Plus its a good baseline for after you start modding the engine.

Re: Get Out of the Cold - 2009
What needs to be done to your car to qualify at this track? I mean to pass the tech inspection?

13.99 in the 1/4 = Helmet
11.49 in the 1/4 = roll bar
Battery in trunk = external cutt off switch
Those are the main ones...
For you bring a helmet and you will be good.

Re: Get Out of the Cold - 2009
So I don't have the battery relocated or the roll bar, but I do have a motorcycle helmet. Does that work?

If its SNELL approved than yes. SNELL 2000 is the new standard for NHRA.
You can tell if your helmet is SNELL approved, it will have it stamped somewhere.

Dont take this the wrong way, but your cars not fast enough to worry about that, just bring your helmet, cause you mite need that, but other then that, if you want to race someone, and that's all ways fun, you can match up with someone that is comparable to you and your car, that always makes for a good race when your fairly closely matched, and its all in fun, no bad feelings, just friendly racing.
So, Will and Bernie going to duke it out, coooooool
I myself plan to embarrass Alix, his sixer's pretty fast and noisy, but Blue's not worried about him, you know, all bark no bite.
