Hey everyone, sorry I haven't posted until now. The event was a great success, even in the rain. Thanks to everyone for coming out!
I've compiled a ton of pictures into a thread on Mischief.

Re: 2009 Philly Cheesesteak Run - 4/11/09
Nice pics and video!
When I woke up and went outside around 7:15 am Saturday morning, it wasn't raining at all in Fredericksburg, so I was like
. I hosed off my car since driving it to work all week and it getting dusty from all the construction and what little rain we did get didn't get the dirt off. By 8 am I was on the road to meet up with the people in Tysons Corner. There were about 20 cars that left from Tysons to meet up with the crew at College Park IKEA. There I caught up with some of the MPSF gang
That was crazy as we stood out in the rain for quite some time then headed for the parking garage for shelter, but were quickly sent out with the word of the cops being called. On the way out, I couldn't help but notice a lot of smoke coming from Mike's Stang and seeing the lady run over to try and stop him
Back out into the rain we went for a little while longer. We started to roll out as a PG cruiser showed up. The ride up to White Marsh IKEA was quite the soggy one as it continued to rain. Once there, I found myself standing out in the rain...AGAIN totally unprepared as I was just in a t shirt and jeans. As hard as it was raining there, I was totally soaked (I see Ed got pic of that and was even in his video
) by the time I got back in the Stang to head up to Philly. The cruise to Philly was hectic and interesting all in one as several of us MPSF gang got split up from the main group. Going through one of the tolls, I got at least a mile or more behind all by myself. Once I was able to break free of all the traffic, I hammered down and was well on my way to catching up! I didn't think I was that far behind, but staying in radio contact with Ed, it seemed to take several minutes to finally catch back up with the group while doing close to and above triple digits
Minutes after me flying by the gang and getting to the front of the line was when I heard Ed and looked in my rear view and saw flashing lights. Heard Alex got pulled by a cop, we pulled over to the shoulder a mile or so up the road and waited. After hearing he got popped for following too close, he seemed to overcompensate and stay about 1/4 mile behind me at times as we were going through Delaware
Then as we get into Philly, I took us in the wrong direction and we went several miles before turning around. It was fun finding spots to park when we got there, but since there were so many cars there, we figured what would be the harm in a few not parking in designated spots??? We got a table for 8 after waiting about 15 minutes or so which asn't bad considering ALL the people that were there. We hung out and ate the good food..fries with cheese and bacon and the cheesesteaks! I got mushrooms, grilled onions, sweet peppers and sharp provolone on mine
We must have stayed there at least an hour having some good conversations. We left there an went over to where they have America's first cruise ship for some pics (if not for Ed telling us about it on the way in, we might not have known at all about it!) That made for an interesting photo shoot as we partially took up a travel lane next to the sidewalk (hardly any traffic though) and then as Laura and I were sitting in our cars with the windows down...Mike starts to burn up his tires
Seconds later, my car was full of smoke! After he stopped we all got out and that's when I noticed I had bits of tire rubber all over the passenger side and up on the trunk of my car! No harm at all, Mike
As he was doing his burnout, I was so tempted to fire mine up and start lighting my tires up with him, BUT somepart of my brain remained rational and I never turned the key! The trip from Philly back home was a great one as the sun was out, the roads were dry and at one time or another one or more of us were opening it up! Thanks gang for a great time! I hooked up with Karen in Greenbelt, MD for some last minute Easter shopping before heading back to the 'Burg. When all was said and done, it was 14 hours and 398 miles from the time I left home to when I got back. I was beat and slept well that night!

Nice job John.
Bernie, when you make an album in Photo Bucket, on the top is a tab to do a slide show, and there's all kinds of themes you can use

Thanks, guys
Not like I had anything better to do at 1:30am and beyond
That probably took me about 20 minutes or so to write and proof read (hopefully mostly correct...) Too bad it couldn't have been a better story, but then again...what story is complete without a few
moments???

Nice except you totally forgot to mention the 350Z's on the ride back. Definite fun there. Did anyone else play with them besides me? I got some contact info from them and they may come to Capitol on friday

Hay I found out some terrible news about the SS United States, this is the ship in the picture with our cars, there is a good possibility that it could be sold to a scrap yard and lost forever, I put up a thread about in the forum with a link to find out about this great ship and what means to us as Americans to save her.

Exactly, so I didn't think it was even worth mentioning

One thing I did forget though...
Just past the Service Plaza where Mike stopped to fill up, a cop had somebody pulled over on the shoulder. Just up the road a few hundred yards from that as a totally unmarked Mustang GT (either Black or Alloy) cop car. Not even tinted windows and when I rolled by, I could clearly see big lights mounted on either side of the back ledge...SNEAKY
Laura called Mike to give him heads up, so he didn't get popped leaving the Plaza. Heard later, that when Mike passed by, the Stang did have somebody pulled over._________________
