got a new truck well not new but you get the idea
its an 88 f150 with a 5.0 engine... been doing the body work and such, went to crazy rays got a tailgate, and some minor under the hood gear.. replaced the fuelpump and filter WATER killed them both..
now i just cant figure out this hesitation issue.. I think it has to be the cats, cause when she is cold she will run like a bat out of hell, when she reaches operating temp she hesitates and feels like she is choking down... i gotta say i dont like the intake at all but with limited fundage there is no way i can change that stuff out right now.. any opinions

yeah its fuel injected..the intake is huge like 10 inches tall and has double tubes coming in from the air cleaner, cut the exhaust off today and knocked out the cats, still bogging down, im thinking its either the torque converter or its stuck in a higher gear, but it seems to shift through, a bit hard but im less than a novice on transmissions
Re: got a new truck well not new but you get the idea
Might wanna look at fuel pressure. Could have a bad fuel pump.

just replaced that and the filter, cant find another pump anywhere but have not dropped the tanks yet, it has 2... fuel gauges are giving me a headache....trying to find out if there is a second fuel pump in the big tank, or in both...been toying with the idea of wiring up a second pump but im not quite sure how to do that yet... gonna pull the old y pipe out tomorrow and make sure the upper cat is definitely not the problem......the funny thing is that in low she takes off real good cold... but as soon as i get to around 220-240 degrees she drags horribly, i was also worried about the injectors with the amount of water i got out of the old pump and filter, know carbs a bit better, know chevy alot better
Re: got a new truck well not new but you get the idea
auto?
fuel pressure definately could be making it seem boggy...but the injectors definately could be full of junk...try cleaning them out if that doesnt work get new ones...
what fuel are you running?
