I wouldn't do it all ghetto like most people do. I'd actually separate the clear plastic lens from the reflector and actually paint the reflector. I thought about leaving about a 1/2inch border of chrome around the brake and reverse light and leaving the outside lens clear like it already is. Painting the outside of the lens with night shades or sticking vynil to it would look far worse than it does from the factory. If I had any photoshop skills I would be able to explain it better.
