Latest project

A little back ground. Back in Feb, I changed to a tube k-member, a-arms and coil overs. I went w/ the recommended spring rates of 150 from the co I bought the stuff from. Since then, I have been really unhappy w/ the ride quality. The spring rate was way too soft. After calling Strange Engineering and a lengthy conversation w/ one of their techs, he told be what to look for, how to measure and find out what springs would be right for me. It was some crazy formula that included measuring the spring while the load was on them. Something I had never looked at before. When I did so, I saw that there was barely any room left between the coils for the ride height I had needed.

So I changed to a heavier spring rate the the ride
The ride quality is much better. A little
stiff but I'm hoping the springs will settle a little. Here's some pics
of the 2 springs compared and the new ones installed.

200 rate on the left, 150 rate on the right.

New springs in and load off the wheels

Here are the old springs w/ the load of the car on the ground

Now w/ the new springs. Load on the car. Huge difference in the space between the coils now.

Ride height is the same for both spring rates.
